Title: Ecorse - STEP 4: BUDGET VS. AUDITED REALITY
Post by: Shadowninja on Sep 14, 2026, 04:08 PM
Dearest reader,

Step Five brings Lady Budgetdown to Ecorse Public Schools' audited General Fund — and this ledger did not quite follow the budget. 👓🪶

For 2023–24:

📜 Budgeted deficit: $682,990

📜 Actual deficit: $1,853,599

That is approximately $1.17 million worse than budgeted.

The General Fund balance fell from $3.34 million to $1.48 million — a decline of roughly 56% in one year.
And underneath that difference:

💰 Revenue came in $357,384 below budget

💸 Expenditures came in $1,038,763 above budget

That closes our regular five-step Ecorse review.

But, dearest reader, we are not quite finished with Ecorse. The auditors left Lady Budgetdown a few additional pages worth reading. 🪶
