Title: River Rouge: STEP 2 & 2A: 10-YEAR Staffing Comparisons
Post by: Shadowninja on Sep 14, 2026, 08:33 PM
River Rouge has given Lady Budgetdown a staffing ledger that looks rather different from many we've opened lately.

Between 2014–15 and 2024–25, pupil count grew 83.3%.

Staffing grew even faster.

Teachers: +91.9%

Paraprofessionals/aides: +206.4%

Non-instructional/support: +162.7%

Total staff FTE: +131.6%

So naturally, I took the administrative numbers over to the NCES ledger for a closer look.

And there, the story changes a bit.

District/central-office administration was essentially flat: 4.83 → 4.80 FTE.

School administration increased 46.7%, while total administrative FTE increased 30.2%.

In other words, despite an 83.3% increase in pupils and a 131.6% increase in total staffing, administrative staffing grew considerably more slowly than either.

That leaves Lady Budgetdown staring less at the administrative column...and rather more intently at that very large growth in support staffing. 🧐🪶

The ledger continues.

With receipts & respect.
