For calendar year 2025, Alpena Public Schools reported 11 employees with salaries exceeding $100,000.
Those 11 employees had:

💰 Total compensation: $1,917,877.76
And before anyone reaches for the pitchfork, total compensation is not take-home pay. It includes salary plus employer-paid benefits and other compensation reported by the district.
Among those 11 employees:

📋 Assistant Superintendent
Salary: $146,238.25
Total compensation: $210,075.87
📋 Assistant Superintendent
Salary: $120,590.85
Total compensation: $185,025.61
Then we have three director positions:
Director: $109,944.48 salary | $178,288.59 total
Director: $104,491.74 salary | $170,581.35 total
CTE Director: $100,852.85 salary | $145,353.65 total
Now, Lady Budgetdown isn't posting these numbers because earning six figures is automatically good, bad, excessive, or improper.
The numbers are public because taxpayers are supposed to be able to see them.
And after Step 2 showed administrative FTE increasing 51.7% while enrollment declined 6.3%, the compensation report becomes another piece of the same financial picture.
