Over the decade, Beecher Community School District's pupil count fell nearly in half:
Pupils: −48.96%
Teachers: −33.2%
Total administrators: −28.6%
Total staff: −4.7%
But there are a few interesting shifts inside those totals.
Instructional aides doubled (+100.0%), student support more than doubled (+108.9%), and other support increased 10.5%.
And remember the breadcrumb from Step 1:
Business & Administration spending per pupil increased 316.37%.
Yet administrator FTE actually decreased 28.6%.
So adding administrators clearly isn't the explanation.
Which means the ledger still has a question:
What drove that spending increase? 👀🪶
