5 CHART SERIES
📜 THE NOVI LEDGER CHART #1
Darling, before we ask where the staffing changed, we first have to establish what changed.
From 2021-22 to 2025-26, Novi Community School District's student headcount increased from 6,618 to 6,781.
That's an increase of 163 students, or 2.5%.
Over that same period, Novi's total staff FTE increased from 746.71 to 872.85.
That's an increase of 126.14 FTE, or 16.9%.
So the first finding in this five-part look at Novi is straightforward:
Enrollment increased 2.5%.
Total staff FTE increased 16.9%.
That does not tell us whether the additional staffing was necessary or unnecessary. And it certainly doesn't tell us that all of those additional positions were administrators.
It simply establishes the starting point.
The next receipt will look at where that staffing growth actually occurred, teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals/aides, and the state-reported "Non-Instructional" category.
Because Lady Budgetdown doesn't start with the conclusion.
She starts with the records. 👑
