📜 THE NOVI LEDGER CHART #2
Darling, Chart #1 established that from 2021-22 to 2025-26, Novi's student headcount increased 2.5%, while total staff FTE increased 16.9%.
So naturally, the next question is:
Where did that staffing growth occur?
The state-reported FTE numbers give us the breakdown:
👑 Administrators: 32.01 → 44.00
+11.99 FTE | +37.5%
📚 Teachers: 482.97 → 498.43
+15.46 FTE | +3.2%
📝 Paraprofessionals/Aides: 71.26 → 96.25
+24.99 FTE | +35.1%
📊 Non-Instructional: 160.47 → 234.17
+73.70 FTE | +45.9%
Overall, Novi went from 746.71 to 872.85 total staff FTE, an increase of 126.14 FTE, or 16.9%.
And here's where context matters.
The state calls that final category "Non-Instructional." Lady Budgetdown is going to call it exactly that. It can include administrators and/or central-office staff.
What the records do establish is that teacher FTE increased 3.2%, while the other categories shown increased at considerably higher rates.
Chart #2 doesn't tell us why.
It tells us where to look next.
And the ledger isn't finished yet. 👑🪶
