👑 **LADY BUDGETDOWN | NOVI COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT**
Tonight, during the Novi Board of Education meeting, the superintendent stated that funding to Novi has been **reduced over the last three years and has not kept pace with inflation.** He also suggested that misinformation has been spreading. Yet, he is the one spreading the misinformation on actual funding....
Since Lady Budgetdown was mentioned, let's open the ledger. 📖
Here are **Novi's own numbers reported to the State of Michigan:**
| School Year | Total Revenue Per Pupil | Annual Change | CPI |
| ----------- | ----------------------: | ------------: | ---: |
| 2020-21 | $13,608 | — | 4.7% |
| 2021-22 | $13,374 | -1.72% | 8.0% |
| 2022-23 | $14,353 | +7.32% | 4.1% |
| 2023-24 | $15,661 | **+9.11%** | 2.9% |
| 2024-25 | $15,396 | -1.69% | 2.6% |
Now look at the **last three available years**:
**$14,353 → $15,661 → $15,396 per pupil**
That is **not three years of reduced funding.**
From 2022-23 through 2024-25, Novi's **total revenue per pupil increased approximately 7.27%.**
Cumulative inflation over the comparable period was approximately **5.66%.**
So, respectfully, the numbers do not support the statement made tonight, at least not when we are talking about **total revenue per pupil**, which is the measure Lady Budgetdown has been reporting.
If the superintendent was referring to a particular *component* of funding, rather than total funding, Lady Budgetdown would be happy to examine that number too.
But calling the information posted here "misinformation" does not change what Novi reported to the State of Michigan.
**The ledger is still open. And the receipts are still there.** 👑
