### 🕯 LADY BUDGETDOWN'S SOCIETY PAPERS
**Troy School District: The $100,000 Club**
Dearest Readers,
Lady Budgetdown has once again opened the public ledger.
And this time, our correspondence takes us to **Troy School District**, where the district's own **2025 Salary & Employer Paid Benefit Information** reveals what lies beyond the salary column.
The report specifically lists employees with **Medicare wages exceeding $100,000** and shows not only those wages, but the additional employer-paid costs for FICA/Medicare, retirement, health insurance, dental and vision, life insurance, disability and, where applicable, board-paid TSA contributions.
And there are quite a few names—well, *positions*, anyway—in this particular society.
💰 **158 employees earned $100,000 or more in Medicare wages during 2025.**
Among them are administrators, teachers, supervisors, a non-represented technology employee and a non-represented secretary.
At the very top?
👑 **Superintendent**
Medicare Wages: **$317,620.04**
➡️ Total Compensation: **$474,549.20**
The next highest entries include:
📜 Administrator — **$182,941.36** wages → **$264,512.89 total compensation**
📜 Administrator — **$180,831.43** → **$283,843.85**
📜 Administrator — **$174,992.17** → **$250,600.60**
📜 Administrator — **$173,458.18** → **$276,580.24**
And teachers are certainly represented as well.
The highest-paid teacher appearing in the report received **$130,423.61 in Medicare wages**, with **$203,371.99 in total compensation**.
But perhaps the most interesting numbers are found when we close the individual ledgers and look at the group as a whole:
🎩 **158 EMPLOYEES AT $100,000+**
💵 **Total Medicare Wages:**
**$17,759,408.75**
💰 **Total Compensation:**
**$29,283,503.21**
That is a difference of approximately **$11.52 MILLION** between wages and the full compensation cost represented by this group.
Now, dear readers, Lady Budgetdown makes no declaration that earning $100,000 is inherently excessive.
Nor does the existence of benefits, retirement contributions or employer payroll costs constitute some financial scandal.
**That isn't the point.**
The point is transparency.
When taxpayers hear the word **"salary,"** they are hearing only one portion of what an employee costs a public institution.
And when **$17.76 million in wages becomes approximately $29.28 million in total compensation**, perhaps the entire ledger deserves a place in the conversation.
No rumors.
No speculation.
No political arithmetic.
**Just the numbers Troy School District itself published.**
After all, dear readers...
