Dearest reader,
Sometimes the clearest questions in the ledger are also the simplest ones.
From 2014–15 to 2024–25, Fraser Public Schools' average pupil count fell from 5,386.00 to 4,388.34.
That is a loss of 997.66 pupils, or 18.52%.
During that same period, Fraser's district/central administration increased from 8.90 FTE to 16.80 FTE.
That is an increase of 88.8%.
So, to put it plainly:
Nearly 1,000 fewer pupils.
Central administration nearly doubled.
Teachers, meanwhile, were essentially flat, moving from 234.25 FTE to 232.73 FTE, a decrease of just 0.6%.
Total administrators also increased overall, from 25.60 FTE to 29.80 FTE, or 16.4%.
That does not automatically mean wrongdoing.
It does not tell us whether every position added was unnecessary.
But it does raise a very fair public question:
What changed in Fraser's structure that required nearly twice as many central administrators while serving nearly 1,000 fewer students?
That is not an accusation.
That is the ledger doing what the ledger does best.
It shows the numbers.
And then it asks the question.
With receipts and respect.
