Title: Marysville Public Schools: 10-YEAR STAFFING FTE COMPARISON
Post by: Shadowninja on Sep 19, 2026, 02:54 PM
👑 Lady Budgetdown: Marysville Public Schools: Step 2

The financial ledger was Step 1. Now let's count the chairs.

Over the last decade, Marysville's pupil count declined 3.3%.

Its total staffing FTE?

It increased 2.1%.

Here's where those chairs moved:

🏛 Administrators: +8.3%

🍎 Teachers: -0.6%

📚 Paraprofessionals/Aides: -64.0%

🗂 Non-Instructional/Support: +22.4%

👥 Total FTE: +2.1%

And yes, Lady B noticed that para/aide number too. 👀

The state data shows 22.00 FTE in 2014-15 and 7.93 in 2024-25.

But before anyone runs through Marysville waving a pitchfork, a little context belongs with that receipt: REP staffing is reported by functional category, classifications can change over time, and FTE is not the same thing as counting individual employees.

So I'm not going to declare that Marysville "eliminated 64% of its paras" when the data alone cannot establish that.

What I can say is this:

Marysville has 3.3% fewer pupils than it did a decade ago, while total staffing FTE is 2.1% higher. Teacher FTE remained almost flat, administration increased 8.3%, and the largest increase appears in non-instructional/support staffing at 22.4%.

That's what the state-reported numbers say.

What changed inside those categories, and why?

Well now... that sounds like a question for the ledger. 👑

Receipts aren't very useful if we only keep the convenient ones.

With receipts & respect. 🪶
