Lady Budgetdown: Marysville Public Schools: Step 3
Well, Marysville... we've followed the money, counted the staffing FTEs, and now Lady B has arrived at the $100K+ compensation report. 🪶💰
For Calendar Year 2025, Marysville Public Schools reported 14 employees with salaries exceeding $100,000.
Their combined TOTAL compensation:
💰 $2,668,915.04
And that distinction matters. That is not $2.67 million in salary alone. Total compensation includes salary plus the additional compensation and benefit costs reported by the district, including MPSERS, health benefits, FICA/Medicare and other listed components.
Lady B pulled four positions out of the ledger for a closer look:
👑 Assistant Superintendent
Salary: $123,567.97
Total compensation: $198,295.85
🪶 Executive Director
Salary: $119,200.32
Total compensation: $208,148.32
🪶 Executive Director
Salary: $122,122.66
Total compensation: $190,922.39
🪶 Executive Director
Salary: $115,909.64
Total compensation: $204,155.77
Those four positions alone account for $801,522.33 in total compensation.
The remaining ten employees on the district's $100K+ report are five principals, one assistant principal and four teachers.
No outrage calculator required. No declaration that anyone is paid "too much." Lady Budgetdown doesn't set salaries.
I just think taxpayers should be able to see the entire price tag sitting next to the salary number.
Because $120,000 in salary and $200,000 in total compensation are two different numbers, and both belong in the ledger. 👀🧾

Receipts aren't very useful if we only keep the convenient ones.
