BANGOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS: THREE YEARS OF AUDITS
Lady Budgetdown took a look at Bangor's last three audits.
Two things stood out.
Bangor's General Fund balance fell from $2.49 million to $1.39 million in two years — a decline of approximately $1.10 million, or 44.2%.
Then there are the audits themselves.
In 2024, auditors reported a material weakness in financial reporting controls.
In 2025, that material weakness remained — and auditors added a finding of material budget noncompliance.
Declining reserves are one thing.
Repeated audit concerns are another.
Together, they leave a pretty simple question:
What is Bangor doing to change course?
👑 With receipts and respect.
