Dearest reader,
Now we follow the check register.
For Step 4 of my look at Bangor Township Schools, I pulled payments to five vendors across two fiscal years.
2023–24: $940,573.95
2024–25: $698,677.61
Two-year total: $1,639,251.56.
The largest piece belongs to TSA Consulting Group: $1,159,631.82 over the two years.
J Casas & Associates received $199,900.00.
Strategic Intervention Solutions received $182,805.49.
Thrun Law Firm received $94,154.25 — including $69,547.75 in 2023–24 and $24,606.50 in 2024–25.
Nine18 Creative received $2,760.00.
Now, an important distinction: a check register tells us who was paid and how much. It does not necessarily tell us what every payment purchased or why it was made.
And that is exactly why I follow the receipts in steps.
First, find the money.
Then ask what taxpayers received for it.
There are a few payments in this ledger that deserve a closer look. 🐇
With receipts and respect.
