Dearest reader,
Step 3 takes us from how Roseville Community Schools staffs the district to what its 2025 compensation report tells us about pay.
Thirty employees reported wages of $100,000 or more.
21 were administrators.
9 were teachers.
For the central administration positions identified in the report:
Superintendent — $243,911.22 in wages | $376,047.55 total compensation
Deputy Superintendent — $179,803.49 | $295,498.49
Assistant Superintendent — $168,360.80 | $272,564.73
Director of Business Affairs — $143,372.16 | $230,123.54
Director of Special Education — $130,650.44 | $205,406.73
Director of Technology — $123,989.14 | $207,840.74
Director of Building & Grounds — $121,241.82 | $210,124.61
Director of School Improvement & Grants — $120,322.04 | $210,083.73
Coordinator of Food Service — $106,071.67 | $167,917.58
And one number deserves a closer look.
The superintendent's mandatory retirement contribution alone was $95,165.84 in 2025, in addition to $243,911.22 in wages.
A quick note about the receipts: "total compensation" here isn't simply salary plus a number I dreamed up over tea. It includes the district-paid retirement, FICA, medical/cash-in-lieu, dental, optical, LTD/STD and life insurance reported by Roseville. I excluded the report's employee-paid benefits column.
There is also one $108,080.73 employee identified only as "Administrator" in the report. Rather than guess what job that person holds, I left that position out of the named list.
No guessing. No filling in blanks.
Just what the district reported.
With receipts and respect. 🪶
