Well, well, well.
Just when I thought I might close the Saginaw ISD ledger for an evening, another envelope slid beneath the door. 🪶
And you know Lady Budgetdown.
I opened it.
Inside were the Saginaw ISD administrative salary schedules for 2025–26 and 2026–27.
Now, this particular rabbit hole already has quite a few breadcrumbs scattered about the parlor.
We recently discovered that nine positions have been created since Jeffrey Collier became superintendent.
Then there is Mr. Collier himself, whose base salary is approximately $297,000.
Base salary, dear readers.
Before additional compensation enters the ballroom.
And now we have the administrative salary schedules.
For 2026–27, an Executive Director with a doctorate can reach $164,488. An Executive Director with an MA+ can reach $159,181. A Director with a doctorate can reach $132,652.
And when I placed the 2025–26 schedule beside the 2026–27 schedule?
Up went the numbers.
Approximately 3% across the schedule.
Now, Lady Budgetdown is not going to faint onto the chaise lounge over a 3% raise. People receive raises. That is hardly breaking news.
But the ledger does have an irritating little habit of remembering what was written on the previous pages.
Nine newly created positions.
A superintendent with an approximately $297,000 base salary, before additional compensation.
A rather well-populated central administration and leadership $100K Club.
And now another increase to the administrative salary schedule.
At some point, one begins to wonder:
As the investment at the top of Saginaw ISD continues to grow, what has happened to the investment reaching the children and classrooms the ISD exists to serve?
Perhaps there is a perfectly lovely answer.
But Lady Budgetdown has learned that when the breadcrumbs keep appearing in the same corner of the room, it is generally worth noticing where they lead.
