Apparently, that $370,000 number caught a few eyes.
After I posted Saginaw ISD Superintendent Jeffrey Collier's reported wages, several readers asked the same question:
"What do the other superintendents in Saginaw County make?"
Fair question.
So I pulled the reported wage figures for the superintendents across Saginaw County and put them in one place.
At the top:
Saginaw ISD - Jeffrey Collier: $370,000
Then:
Saginaw Public — $313,552.59
Chesaning Union — $221,226.39
Saginaw Township — $192,919.98
Freeland — $184,490.50
Frankenmuth — $173,658.16
Hemlock — $173,033.00
Swan Valley — $152,265.17
Carrollton — $149,480.00
Birch Run — $134,292.31
Merrill — $104,952.96
St. Charles — $73,756.58
Bridgeport-Spaulding — N/A
These are reported wages, not total compensation with retirement, insurance and other benefits piled on top.
A little context matters: Frankenmuth's figure involves an interim superintendent/high school principal position, and St. Charles had a superintendent change during the year. So this is a wage ledger, not an attempt to pretend every employment arrangement is identical.
But readers asked what the numbers looked like.
