Title: Gaylord Community Schools - $100k+ Employee Compensation
Post by: Shadowninja on Sep 25, 2026, 02:17 PM
Dearest reader,

We have followed Gaylord Community Schools' dollars.

We have followed the staffing.

Now let's look at compensation.

Gaylord's 2025 employee compensation disclosure lists 14 employees with Medicare-reportable wages of $100,000 or more.

Combined district-paid compensation for those 14 employees?

$2,577,577.48.

Five of the 14 positions are listed as teaching positions. The remaining positions include the superintendent, curriculum, supervision/management, program/department direction, and school direction/management positions.

The superintendent reported $118,187.68 in wages. But $208,853.27 in total district-paid compensation once retirement, FICA, insurance, board-paid annuity and other reported benefits are included.

That is why Lady Budgetdown does not stop at the salary column.

A salary tells us one number.

Total compensation tells us what the position actually costs the district.

And when we are talking about public dollars, both numbers belong in the conversation.

Receipts, dearest reader. Always the receipts.

With receipts and respect. 👑
