A reader send me a message today, and it led Lady B to stumble into another rabbit hole.
And this one starts with a name I keep seeing while digging through school districts across Michigan:
APPTEGY.
Or you may recognize its former platform name:
THRILLSHARE.
If you've followed Lady B's district workups, you've probably seen it yourself. Open enough school district documents and eventually this starts appearing:

So I started looking at Apptegy. And guess whose name keeps appearing?
Saginaw ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Collier.
● This isn't one appearance. The relationship goes back years.
● Collier has appeared in Apptegy's SchoolCEO publications and podcasts.
● He has presented alongside Apptegy executives at national conferences.
● He and SISD Chief of Staff Coty Kuschinsky were keynote speakers at Apptegy's SchoolCEO conference.
● Apptegy has hosted programming featuring Saginaw ISD.
● Apptegy created an entire case study around Saginaw ISD.
● And today, Apptegy features Collier's endorsement directly on its corporate website.
● Meanwhile, Apptegy says its platform now powers more than 5,250 school districts across all 50 states.
So Lady B has questions.
● What exactly is the relationship between Dr. Collier, Saginaw ISD and Apptegy?
● How long has it existed?
● How much has Saginaw ISD paid Apptegy?
● Has Apptegy ever paid for travel, lodging, conference expenses or other expenses associated with Dr. Collier's appearances?
● Have Dr. Collier or Saginaw ISD ever received speaker fees, honoraria, consulting payments, discounts, credits, sponsorships or anything else of value from Apptegy?
And perhaps most interesting to Lady B:
● Just how large is Apptegy's footprint in Michigan public schools?
● Because I have spent months opening financial reports, audits and other documents from districts all over this state.
● And that Thrillshare backend address is EVERYWHERE.
So I'm calling on my fellow ledger keepers.....
● Does your Michigan school district use Apptegy or Thrillshare?
● Do you have an Apptegy contract?
● An invoice?
● A purchase order?
● A check register showing payments?
● A board agenda approving the contract?
Send Lady B the receipt.
I'm not alleging anything improper.
I'm asking a much simpler question:
WHAT IS THE CONNECTION?
And just how far does it reach?
