We have followed Flat Rock Community Schools from the ten-year financial picture, through staffing, and now we arrive at Step 3: compensation.
The district's 2025 compensation report lists 32 employees with salaries/wages of $100,000 or more.
Combined, those 32 employees received $6,092,900.93 in total compensation, which includes salary/wages and benefits as reported by the district.
For the graphic, Lady B pulled five district-level administrative positions:
Superintendent — $216,462.81 in salary/wages and $344,916.24 in total compensation.
Business Manager — $180,633.50 in salary/wages and $258,438.99 in total compensation.
Director of Shared Services — $123,395.23 in salary/wages and $204,954.95 in total compensation.
Director of Student Services — $113,928.75 in salary/wages and $181,029.06 in total compensation.
Technology Director — $106,369.38 in salary/wages and $179,486.69 in total compensation.
A little context matters here.
The five positions shown on the graphic are not all 32 employees in the district report. Principals and the Early Childhood/Community Outreach Director were intentionally left off the graphic, and the district-wide count also includes teachers and other employees who met the reporting threshold.
And, as always, Lady B isn't here to decide whether someone is paid too much, too little, or exactly what the position is worth.
The ledger simply shows what the district reported.
