Dearest reader,
A reader sent Lady B an internal email from Saginaw ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Collier regarding his involvement with Bridgeport-Spaulding Community Schools.
One portion caught my attention.
Dr. Collier explains that if Saginaw ISD were to provide services to Bridgeport-Spaulding beyond his statutory responsibilities as an ISD superintendent, a separate agreement would be required.
And according to Dr. Collier, that agreement would require:
📌 A clearly defined scope of services
📌 An agreement between the two districts
📌 Approval by both Boards of Education
📌 An agreed-upon "compensation or reimbursement structure"

That last one sent Lady B back to the ledger.
Compensation or reimbursement.
Dr. Collier says in the same email that he did not serve as Bridgeport-Spaulding's Interim Superintendent and was not an employee of the district.
So here's my question:
If Dr. Collier's involvement remained entirely within the statutory responsibilities of his existing position as Saginaw ISD Superintendent, why was a potential compensation or reimbursement structure part of the discussion at all? $370,000 a year for salary before additional compensation and a free vehicle to use aren't enough?
And if services beyond those statutory responsibilities were being considered, how far did those discussions get?
Was compensation discussed?
Was reimbursement discussed?
Was a dollar amount ever contemplated?
Sometimes one sentence creates an entirely new breadcrumb.
This may be one of them. 🫖
