Title: Grosse Ile Township Schools - 10-YEAR Financial Snapshot
Post by: Shadowninja on Sep 30, 2026, 03:00 PM
Dearest reader,

Our next stop on the ledger takes us to Grosse Ile Township Schools.

As always, this comparison uses the same methodology Lady B has been using across Michigan: MDE Bulletin 1014, comparing 2014-15 with 2024-25, with financial changes also adjusted for cumulative CPI-U inflation of 35.17%.

And there are a few numbers worth noticing.

📚 Student FTE
1,876.00 → 1,492.27
Down 383.73 pupils, or 20.45%.

💰 All Sources Revenue per pupil
$10,125 → $16,182
Up 59.82% nominally.
After inflation: +18.24%.

🍎 Total Instruction per pupil
$7,012 → $8,934
Up 27.41% nominally.
After inflation: -5.74%.

📖 Instructional Support per pupil
$736 → $1,977
Up 168.61% nominally.
After inflation: +98.72%.

🏫 Business & Administration per pupil
$1,253 → $2,107
Up 68.16% nominally.
After inflation: +24.40%.

🔧 Operations & Maintenance per pupil
$1,018 → $1,701
Up 67.09% nominally.
After inflation: +23.62%.

🍎 Average Teacher Salary
$73,690 → $70,517
Down 4.31% before accounting for inflation.
After inflation: -29.20%.

So while enrollment declined 20.45% over the decade, the inflation-adjusted numbers moved very differently depending on where the dollars were going.

All Sources Revenue per pupil increased in real terms. Instructional Support, Business & Administration, and Operations & Maintenance also increased after inflation.

Total Instruction per pupil did not.

And average teacher salary ended the decade lower in actual dollars than where it started, and 29.20% lower after adjusting for inflation.

Those are the numbers.

What they say about priorities?

As always, Lady B leaves that part to you. 🪶

With receipts and respect,
