Title: SAGINAW COUNTY - Saginaw Township v Saginaw Public Nonresident Enrollment
Post by: Shadowninja on Oct 05, 2026, 09:39 AM
Dearest reader,

Lady B was going through her messages and, well... she is very far behind. 🫣

A reader sent me a request about a week ago asking about nonresident enrollment in Saginaw Township Community Schools and Saginaw Public Schools.

I am just now getting to it.

So, apologies for the delay, dear reader. The breadcrumbs have been arriving faster than Lady B can follow them lately. 🪶

But this one is officially out of the inbox and into the ledger.

The reader wanted to know what percentage of each district's enrollment is made up of nonresident students, and specifically, how much of that nonresident enrollment comes from the other district.

So I pulled the latest 2025–26 data from MI School Data.

📍 SAGINAW TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Total enrollment: 4,399

Nonresident enrollment: 949

That means 21.57% of STCS students are nonresident students.

Now here's where those 949 nonresident students are coming from:

750 are residents of Saginaw Public Schools.

750 ÷ 949 = 79.03%

So, 79.03% of STCS's nonresident enrollment comes from students who reside in Saginaw Public Schools.

📍 SAGINAW PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Total enrollment: 4,996

Nonresident enrollment: 1,534

That means 30.70% of Saginaw Public students are nonresident students.

And of those 1,534 nonresident students:

571 are residents of Saginaw Township Community Schools.

571 ÷ 1,534 = 37.22%

So, 37.22% of Saginaw Public's nonresident enrollment comes from students who reside in Saginaw Township Community Schools.

Put simply:

STCS
21.57% of total enrollment is nonresident.
Of those nonresident students, 79.03% come from Saginaw Public.

SAGINAW PUBLIC
30.70% of total enrollment is nonresident.
Of those nonresident students, 37.22% come from Saginaw Township.

There is movement in both directions — but now we have the numbers showing exactly how much.

Another reader breadcrumb officially entered into the ledger. 🪶

And to everyone still waiting for me to get to theirs: Lady B sees you. The ledger is just a little... crowded. 🤭
