2025 Leadership Compensation Snapshot

Public records tell us more than just who earns six-figure compensation, they also reveal how a district organizes its leadership.

According to Warren Consolidated's 2025 Transparency Reporting, the district's five highest-paid leadership positions are:

• Superintendent: District
• Assistant Superintendent: Business & Finance/HR
• Assistant Superintendent: Auxiliary Services
• Assistant Superintendent: Instruction
• Chief of Staff

These positions receive employer-paid retirement, FICA, insurance, and other contractual benefits in addition to their base salaries, resulting in total compensation that is substantially higher than salary alone.

One detail also stood out during my review.

In addition to these five executive leadership positions, the district also lists three Executive Administrator of Schools positions among its employees with total compensation exceeding $100,000.

That naturally raises a question, not a criticism, but a question:

How are the responsibilities divided among the Superintendent, three Assistant Superintendents, the Chief of Staff, and three Executive Administrators of Schools?

Taxpayers often see job titles but don't always understand how those positions fit together or why each exists. Understanding the organizational structure can provide valuable context for understanding district operations and leadership.

Transparency isn't just about publishing salaries. It's also about helping the public understand who does what, how responsibilities are divided, and how the organizational structure supports students and district operations.

As always, compensation is only one piece of the picture. It should be considered alongside enrollment, staffing, budgets, collective bargaining agreements, audits, academic outcomes, and other publicly available records.

The goal is not to criticize individuals. The goal is to present public information so taxpayers can ask informed questions and make informed decisions.

Public employees perform important work, and taxpayers also have an interest in understanding how public dollars are allocated. Both ideas can be true at the same time.
