Dearest reader,

Step 2 takes us from the dollars to the people.

For Jefferson Schools in Monroe County, pupil FTE declined 30.17% from 2014-15 to 2024-25.

Over that same decade:

📚 Teachers: 93.35 → 65.67 FTE (−29.65%)

👥 Instructional aides: 6.40 → 2.00 FTE (−68.75%)

📖 Instructional support: 2.00 → 0.00 FTE (−100.00%)

🧭 Guidance: 3.00 → 3.00 FTE (no change)

🤝 Student support: 2.00 → 6.50 FTE (+225.00%)

🏫 Total administrators: 12.35 → 8.50 FTE (−31.17%)

👥 Total staff: 240.01 → 175.92 FTE (−26.70%)

There are decreases almost everywhere in this ledger, but not everywhere. Student support increased substantially, while guidance remained unchanged.

That is why Lady B uses the same categories and the same methodology from district to district. Sometimes the numbers tell a very different story than the district before it.

No cherry-picking the convenient receipts.

Next up: Step 3.

With receipts and respect.
