SAGINAW PUBLIC SCHOOLS: STEP FOUR

And now Lady Budgetdown has arrived at the part of the ledger where we see where the dollars actually went.

For 2024–25, Saginaw Public Schools reported roughly $133.36 million in General Fund expenditures.

A few numbers caught my quill:

Instruction: 42.31%

Total personnel: 53.67%

Professional & technical purchased services: $15.01 million

General + school administration: $6.76 million, about 5.07% of the General Fund.

And remember the breadcrumb we've been carrying through this entire district dive: pupil count fell 28.1% over the decade.

The ledger doesn't tell us whether every dollar was wisely or poorly spent.

It does, however, tell us where to start asking questions. 🪶

With receipts and respect.
