Now, context matters.

A check register tells us what was paid, to whom, and often where it was charged. It does not always tell us whether an expenditure was reasonable, necessary, unusual, grant-funded, reimbursed, or ultimately beneficial to students.

That requires another breadcrumb.

For now, these are simply the checks.
