📜 LADY BUDGETDOWN | CHIPPEWA VALLEY SCHOOLS

Another district. Another transparency report. Another look at what the district itself reports.

Lady Budgetdown reviewed the current $100K+ compensation report posted by Chippewa Valley Schools, which uses 2025 W-2 Medicare wages.

Here's the snapshot:

💰 497 employees reported more than $100,000 in salary/wages.

Together, those employees accounted for:

$56,138,364.02 in salary/wages
$36,418,808.22 in district-reported employer benefit costs
$92,557,172.24 in total reported compensation/cost
Among those 497 employees:

🍎 366 are teachers - 73.6% of the group

🏛 21 are principals
🏛 17 are assistant principals
🏛 3 are assistant superintendents
🏛 1 is the superintendent

The remaining 89 employees represent other positions included in the district's report.

The average salary/wages among the $100K+ group was $112,954.45, while median salary/wages were $108,563.64.

Average total district-reported compensation/cost was $186,231.73.

The superintendent was reported at $287,597.32 in salary/wages, with $462,902.23 in total reported compensation/cost.

One important distinction:

Employer benefit costs are not the same thing as employee take-home pay. The district's report includes employer-related costs such as retirement, FICA, health, dental, vision, life, disability, annuities, cash-in-lieu and other benefits.

Lady Budgetdown reports these figures as the district reports them, without adding, subtracting or redefining the numbers.

The purpose isn't to decide whether any employee is paid "too much" or "too little." It's to make a public record easier for the public to see and understand.
