FRANKENMUTH: TEN YEARS IN THE LEDGER

Well, this one has a little bit of everything. 👀

Over the last decade, Frankenmuth School District actually grew enrollment by 16.96%, while all-sources revenue per pupil increased 42.78%, slightly ahead of inflation.

But where the dollars went is more interesting.

Total instruction per pupil: +31.46%
Instructional support per pupil: +4.73%
Business & administration per pupil: +43.28%
Operations & maintenance per pupil: +84.04%

And average teacher salary?

$61,162 → $70,563 up just 15.37%.

Against our 35.83% inflation benchmark, that's about 20.46 percentage points behind inflation.

The number getting the biggest circle in my ledger, though, is Operations & Maintenance.

Up 84.04% per pupil while enrollment grew. 🪶

That doesn't tell me why.

It tells me where to look next.

With receipts & respect. 👑
