Step 4 takes Lady B into the 2024–25 check register for Roscommon Area Public Schools. 🪶

The entire General Fund register contains more than $4.3 million in payments, so we are not putting every bus part, utility bill and box of pencils on the graphic.

Instead, here are a few payments that caught my eye:

📚 Tutored by Teachers Inc. — $91,300.00

📋 CMH Educational Consulting LLC — $70,910.00

🧾 UHY LLP — $30,650.00

💻 Apptegy — $19,170.00

⚖️ Thrun Law Firm P.C. — $10,193.50

And yes, dearest reader, Apptegy has appeared in the ledger once again. Lady B seems to keep finding that particular breadcrumb across Michigan. 👀

These are selected vendors, not a ranking of the district's largest expenses. They are simply payments Lady B thought were worth putting on the table.

As always, a payment appearing in a check register does not by itself tell us whether an expenditure was good, bad or necessary.
It tells us where the money went.

And that is why we read the ledger.
