Dearest reader... we followed the Jenison breadcrumb. 🪶

Step 1 showed us something we don't see in every district your Lady visits: Jenison Public Schools has grown.

Enrollment increased 23.9% over the decade, from 4,842 pupils to nearly 6,000.

So yes, we should expect staffing to grow too.

The question is: how much, and where?

From 2014–15 to 2024–25:

🍎 Teachers: +31.1%
👥 Total staff: +39.0%
🏛 Total administrators: +61.9%

And when we split those administrators:

📋 District/Central Administration: +48.1%
🏫 School/Building Administration: +74.5%

Then we get into the support categories.

Instructional support: +168.4%
Guidance: +123.7%
Student support: +75.5%
Other support: +71.2%
School support: +47.4%

Meanwhile, instructional aides decreased 30.1%.

That doesn't make any one of those increases inherently good or bad. Jenison added nearly 1,158 pupils over this period, and a growing district needs additional people.

But the proportions are worth noticing.

Enrollment grew 23.9%.
Teachers grew 31.1%.
Total staff grew 39.0%.
Administrators grew 61.9%.

And that, dearest reader, is why your Lady doesn't stop at the first big percentage she finds.

The number tells us where to look.

The receipts tell us what happened. 👑

With receipts & respect.
