ESSEXVILLE-HAMPTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS: A DECADE IN THE LEDGER

This one caught my attention.

From 2014–15 to 2024–25:

Pupil count fell 13.1%.
Revenue per pupil increased 58.6%.
Business & administration per pupil increased 72.7%.
Operations & maintenance per pupil increased 65.7%.

And average teacher salary?

$61,200 → $49,088.

That's a $12,112 decrease — 19.8% — before inflation is even considered.

The numbers don't tell us why.

But when more money is coming in per pupil while average teacher salary moves sharply in the opposite direction, the ledger gives us a pretty obvious place to look next.

Step 2: staffing.

👑 With receipts and respect.
