Dearest reader,

Sometimes the ledger tells the story without much help from Lady Budgetdown.

So let's look at what changed at the Saginaw ISD under Superintendent Jeffrey Collier.

In 2020–21, superintendent wages were approximately $160,000.

In 2025:
$370,000.

That is an increase of approximately $210,000, or 131.25%.

But the superintendent's paycheck isn't the only thing that grew.

Lady B went back through the ISD's organizational records.

In 2020, the leadership structure showed 16 positions.

By 2025, it showed 25.

That's 9 additional leadership positions, an increase of roughly 56%.

Among the positions added to the organizational structure:

• 2 Deputy Superintendent positions
• 1 Chief of Staff & Communications position
• 6 Director positions

And that is where this gets interesting.

Because when taxpayers look at the cost of administration, the superintendent's salary is only one line in the ledger.

The bigger question is what happened to the structure around it.

$160,000 → $370,000.

16 leadership positions → 25.

Nine additional positions.

Those are not opinions.

Those are numbers.

And with Saginaw County taxpayers being asked to renew the ISD's CTE millage this November, Lady B thinks taxpayers deserve to see exactly how the organization they fund has changed.

The receipts don't tell you how to vote.

They tell you what you're paying for.

With receipts and respect.
