Dearest reader,

Step 3 takes us into Port Huron Area School District's 2025 employee compensation ledger.

And this one is considerably larger than our last stop.

Port Huron's public disclosure lists 39 employees with wages above $100,000.

Combined Medicare wages:

$4,523,364.10

Combined district-paid compensation:

$6,786,892.81

That works out to an average district-paid compensation package of approximately:

$173,766 per employee listed.

At the top of the clearly identifiable central administration:

Superintendent
Medicare wage: $212,494.33
Total district compensation: $311,151.97

Assistant Superintendent
Medicare wage: $151,171.41
Total district compensation: $230,586.87

Chief Financial Officer
Medicare wage: $150,772.95
Total district compensation: $222,859.30

The disclosure also includes six employees identified simply as "Director," along with principals, assistant principals, supervisors, deans and others.

But it doesn't identify what departments those six directors oversee.

So Lady B isn't going to simply toss all six into the central-administration bucket and call it a day.

Receipts have boundaries, too.

One other breadcrumb caught my eye:

Of the 39 employees appearing on the $100,000+ disclosure, only two are identified as teachers.

That doesn't mean other teachers aren't well compensated, nor does it tell us anything about overtime, longevity, stipends or individual circumstances.

It tells us exactly what the disclosure says:

39 employees appear on the district's $100,000+ report.

Their combined district-paid compensation was approximately $6.79 million.

And now those numbers are in the ledger.

Next, Lady B follows the dues.

With receipts and respect.
