Dearest reader,

Step 4 takes Lady B into the Dryden Community Schools check register. 🪶

Here are several expenditures that caught my eye in the district's own records:

🧩 Positive Behavior Supports
$68,812.50

🧾 Lewis & Knopf CPAs
$24,560.00

The register identifies this as the 2023-24 audit.

🏛 Association Dues
$11,599.95

That includes organizations such as MASB, MASA/AASA, NASSP, the Big Thumb Conference and others.

🎓 University of Delaware
$10,400.00

Listed in the register for training — "Bookworms."

💻 Apptegy
$6,557.25

Listed for the district's 2024-25 Thrillshare platform.

⚖️ Thrun Law Firm
$2,012.00

Various legal-service payments.

Now, the usual Lady B disclaimer:

A check written to a vendor does NOT, by itself, mean there is anything improper about the expenditure.

The purpose of this series is much simpler.

These are public dollars.

Taxpayers should be able to see where those dollars went without digging through page after page of a check register.

And remember what we've already learned about Dryden over the decade:

👥 Enrollment: -22.98%

🍎 Teachers: -5.78%

🏛 Administrative FTE: +37.47%

👥 Total Staff: +31.68%

💰 Business & Administration spending per pupil: +84.52%

The check register gives us another piece of that financial picture.

One breadcrumb at a time.

One receipt at a time.

And into the ledger it goes. 🪶

With receipts and respect. 💋
